Volunteer in Africa
As an international volunteer with Focus in Africa you will have the opportunity of experiencing another culture and getting to know its people from a unique first-hand perspective.
Volunteer in Africa – work side-by-side with local people and experience another culture like never before.Being a part of voluntary work programs offers you a cross-cultural exposure and experience, often at a more grass-roots level than is provided in overseas studies programs, which not only enriches and benefits you but also the local community as well.
Volunteer work programs are valuable resources which allow you to gain real-world work experience solving practical problems, and can provide an edge in career placement and job advancement. International volunteer work and internships are especially beneficial for those considering international careers. Employers value students and potential employees who have completed successful internships.
By participating in a volunteer work program customized specifically to your academic track, skill set, and interests you will gain hands-on, real-world, international experience in all functional areas of business and make a difference in the future of small woman-owned businesses. This personally-satisfying and meaningful type of volunteering is highly respected by potential employers.
For students taking linguistic and area studies: being in real life settings in the international arena offers you the opportunity to increase foreign language competency and fluency while benefiting others.
